1220mm x 2440mm sheet of sapele flexible veneer. This species is usually used as a balancer to more decorative veneers although it can be stained as a mahogony subsitute.
Flexible veneer is a fantastic product for use in vacuum pressing projects. It is real veneer that has been stiched to form a sheet measuring 2440mm x 1220mm and then has a fleece backing layer bonded to it. The last stage of the maunfacturing process is to sand the entire sheet.
Flexbile veneer is vastly stronger than 'raw' veneer especially across the grain and so is much less likely to split as it is being stretched around a complicated curved form. It is also entirely resistant to glue squeeze through and has the coveniance of arriving in a big sheet so that you don't need to hand stick leaves of veneer.
